We are honored to participate virtually at the CCA Retreat through our family group sessions and Creativity in Action! symposium

What is the CCA Retreat about?

ConnectMed is so honored to be participating in this year’s CCA (Children’s Craniofacial Association) Virtual Family Retreat & Educational Symposium!  The CCA is a national nonprofit organization that addresses the medical, financial, psychosocial, emotional, and educational concerns relating to craniofacial conditions.

To keep families as safe and healthy as possible in light of the Covid-19 outbreak, CCA’s Family Retreat & Educational Symposium is going online for 2020.  The event will still allow individuals affected by facial differences, their siblings, and parents an opportunity to interact with others who have endured similar experiences.  Families can share ideas, problems, and solutions and continue to build relationships and bonds of understanding and caring. More information available here: CCA Family Retreat.

Camp CARE 2020 will include:

  • Inclusive family group discussions facilitated by psychologist Azmaira Maker, Ph.D., founder of Aspiring Families Center for Mental Health and Wellness, and Cashel Gaffey MSW, a social worker and ConnectMed Program & Fundraising Coordinator. THURSDAY, JUNE 25th 3-5 PM.

  • Creativity in Action!, a symposium that incorporates imagination, self-expression, inclusion, and (when possible) movement, allowing children and teens to express their individuality while also identifying what they have in common. Facilitated by Mr. Robert Wagner, La Jolla Country Day School Performing Arts Lead Educator, and some of his Honors Theater students. THURSDAY, JUNE 25th, 1-1:50 PM
