We were honored to sponsor and participate in the June 2021 CCA Retreat through our Virtual Exhibit Booths and mock “Camp Cosmos” programs so families could see what our Camp activities are about!

What is the CCA Retreat about?

ConnectMed is so honored to be participating in this year’s CCA (Children’s Craniofacial Association) Virtual Family Retreat & Educational Symposium!  The CCA is a national nonprofit organization that addresses the medical, financial, psychosocial, emotional, and educational concerns relating to craniofacial conditions.

To keep families as safe and healthy as possible in light of the Covid-19 outbreak, CCA’s Family Retreat & Educational Symposium is going online for 2020.  The event will still allow individuals affected by facial differences, their siblings, and parents an opportunity to interact with others who have endured similar experiences.  Families can share ideas, problems, and solutions and continue to build relationships and bonds of understanding and caring. More information available here: CCA Family Retreat.

In 2018-2020, ConnectMed offered with CCA for Camp CARE, which provided:

  • Inclusive family group discussions facilitated by team members such as psychologist Azmaira Maker, Ph.D., founder of Aspiring Families Center for Mental Health and Wellness, and Cashel Gaffey MSW, our own Program & Fundraising Coordinator.

  • Creativity in Action!, a symposium that incorporates imagination, self-expression, inclusion, and movement, allowing children and teens to express their individuality while also identifying what they have in common. Facilitated by Mr. Robert Wagner, La Jolla Country Day School Performing Arts Lead Educator.
